Why read a book when you can talk straight to the source? This new initiative Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark gives information seekers a way to find answers not in books but rather through people.
The Human Library is an innovative concept designed to promote dialogue, reduce prejudices and encourage understanding. The main characteristics of the project are its simplicity and positive approach. Visitors to the Human Library are given the opportunity to speak informally with “people on loan”; these groups of people being extremely varied in age, sex and cultural background. Not only does it get people interacting in a unique way, but the knowledge and information learnt is invaluable. Plus there is the bonus of no late fees!
