To celebrate its 3-year partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, TAG Heuer kicked off Grand Prix week with a star-studded cocktail event on Tuesday 20th March.
Held at South Melbourne’s stunning Luminare rooftop, the event unveiled TAG Heuer’s new Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Connected Modular 45 timepiece and included a special guest appearance by Formula 1 champion and Aussie favourite, Daniel Ricciardo.
Ricciardo headlined the guest list that included Nikki Phillips, Anthony Callea, Mack Horton, Ed Jenkins, Fabian Coulthard, Laurina Fleure, Chyka Keebaugh and Lorinska Merrington to name a few.
MC’s and Australian sports journalists, Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin welcomed Ricciardo onstage to discuss the upcoming race, as well as TAG Heuer’s impressive motorsport heritage.
Further adding to celebrations, TAG Heuer recently announced it will be racing head first into the world of digital entertainment as the Official Time Keeper for Gran Turismo Sport. The partnership will see TAG Heuer’s Live Timing Technology integrated into Gran Turismo Sport providing unparalleled timing solutions within the racing experience. Fittingly, Ricciardo took on Supercars champion, Fabian Coulthard, in a high-speed Gran Turismo simulator race… honouring the brand’s ‘Don’t Crack Under Pressure’ motto & spirit.
The Formula One Red Bull race car was showcased at the entrance of the Luminaire alongside the Aston Martin V12 for guests to marvel over. TAG Heuer’s soiree saw Melbourne’s elite toast with Veuve Cliqout and an F1 inspired menu designed by the city’s premier caterers, The Big Group. A night to remember for all involved.
