International Women’s Day – Our Mkt. Wrap Up
Mkt. was proud to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) on the 8th March, with some of our inspiring female clients recognised in the media for their work in the #PressForProgress on local soil.
Whilst the statistics may appear bleak – gender parity is more than 200 years away according to the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report – the movement for equality has never been stronger, fuelled by recent activism movements including #MeToo and #TimesUp.

Sadhana Smiles, CEO Harcourts Victoria
A bursting room of 400+ watched on as Sadhana took part in the Institute of Managers and Leaders’ IWD Great Debate – one of six hand-picked ‘interesting and opinionated Australian leaders’ to debate the topic: ‘Is the future female?’
Held at the RACV’s Melbourne City Club, the affirmative and negative teams battled for victory… In the end, it was clear both sides were in support of the future indeed being female, however, not without some humorous anecdotes to try and sway the audience.
On the day, Sadhana’s opinion pieces and commentary on the future of gender equality in the workplace were also published by Business Chicks, Women’s Agenda and Business Insider.
George McEnroe, Founder of Shebah (Australia’s first all-female rideshare service)
On IWD in 2017, our extraordinary client, Shebah, launched Australia’s first and only active all-female rideshare service. A year on, this game-changing app continues to assist women and children in getting where they need to go, safely, and breaks barriers between female passengers and drivers who may have previously felt vulnerable jumping into other rideshare services.
The journey of founder, George, was featured by Collective Hub and Australian Women Online.
