Mkt. was proud to assist Foodbank Victoria in launching its inaugural Hunger Ride last month, as the state’s largest food relief organisation put pedal to the metal to raise $10,000, 600+ kilos of food and much needed awareness for Australians in need.
1,182km were ridden across the nine-day journey that was led by AFL fitness coach, Cameron Falloon, and accompanied by Foodbank Victoria CEO, Dave McNamara.
Kicked off with a launch event at partner food relief agency, Avocare, in Dandenong, the duo stopped at key cities and towns within Foodbank’s food relief network including donor, Bulla Dairy Foods, where Bulla’s Sarah Knights joined Cam and Dave in the last leg from Geelong to Derrimut.
The Hunger Ride concluded with a community event at Foodbank’s Yarraville warehouse MC’d by AFL media personality, Sam Lane. A live jazz band, ‘blender bikes’ and delicious catering made for an enjoyable afternoon of celebration by friends of Foodbank, staff and the stars of the show – Cam and Dave.
It was fantastic to see media so responsive to this important issue with Hunger Ride coverage received in local print titles, TV and broadcast.
