Facebook goes “Real Time”… so be careful what you type!

Next time you start bragging about a trip to Italy to all of your facebook friends- be prepared for an onslaught of Amalfi coast accommodation ideas, Roberto Cavalli fashion deals and colosseum tours.

With the launch of real time advertising on Facebook, advertisers will be willing to pay the big bucks for this instant, automated method of delivering ads tailored to your wall posts and status updates.

While this may seem like an aggressive or rather irritating type of advertising to some, to many brands it is an easy & extremely effective way to influence us and our facebook “friends”.

Does this pose a privacy issue? Maybe…but if you are prepared to post a status update about the disappointing burger you got from your local takeaway haunt, then the latest weight loss wonder pill ads that result from that update shouldn’t bother you at all.
